Father Saves Daughter From Falling From A Building

A 35 year old man and his three year old son died after falling from the 52 floor of a skyscraper in Manhattan, said Sunday police who investigate why this tragedy occurred .

Authorities said they received an emergency call reporting on the fall of both the building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, around noon . When officers arrived, they found the bodies on the roofs of two adjacent buildings.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene , but the child was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead , police said . Their identities were not disclosed.

The circumstances of what happened are unknown. Authorities said the father apparently lived in the building .

Luis Ortiz , a witness told the New York Post he was in a hospital when paramedics arrived with the child to the hospital and massaged his chest.

" One could say that he was leaving . Said that the father was there but did not bring anyone else. Simply was heartbreaking. I have two children. They ( medical staff ) tried to do the best they could ," Ortiz said daily .

The police investigating the deaths left the building in mid-afternoon to photograph a gray Lexus RX350 vehicle that was parked nearby.

The skyscraper, listed as South Park Tower, is located within walking distance of Columbus Circle ( Roundabout Colón) and Lincoln Center .

In March , a woman with her ​​baby was thrown from his window on the eighth floor of a building in Harlem. The mother died but the baby survived 10 months . Authorities found a suicide note at his home .
